Inspired by Iron Chef American himself Bobby Flay, we ventured out to Caesars to dine at his restaurant, Mesa Grill. We arrived early around 11:30 AM to have a quick lunch before the long day ahead. We were seated promptly as there weren’t too many other diners at this time – no reservation needed at all! A quick glance of the restaurant revealed a nicely decorated and upscale feel – we were impressed. On to the review!

The entrance as you approach from the casino. The entire restaurant is surrounded by glass so you can peek out to watch the action at the tables and the sports book which is located very close by.
We started out with complimentary bread which was rather delicious. The jalapeño corn biscuit was the best!
Baby Romaine Salad with chorizo, cotija cheese, pulled croutons roasted garlic dressing. It was an appetizer portion but decently sized. It was slightly too salty though but it was good nonetheless.
We decided to share an entree as we both were not super hungry at the time, especially after eating all the bread…hehe We had the Roasted Pork Sandwich with grilled red onion, arugula, chipotle mayonnaise fries. Very good!! Unique flavor. Every bite of the sandwich was a complex yet well defined explosion of flavor. The fries were equally great with a special spice mixture.
We saved room for Dessert ! This was the Raspberry Compote with Hot Fudge and Raspberry Gelee. The Gelee was more like jello. It was good but not the best dessert we have had although it was a great way to finish a small and light meal.
Mesa Grill was a good stop for lunch, the prices are a little bit steep but the quality and service make up for the extra money you spend. The dinner menu looked pretty simple with a lot of south west inspired dishes. I’m not sure if we will be back for dinner as their highlights seem to be steak. I think we would much prefer real steakhouses like Delmonico or SW/Prime across the street!
