We recently went on a week long vacation to New York. We had a blast finding all the spots to eat!
Here is a short list of some of the places we visited and recommend!
- PDT- Please Don’t Tell; an excellent tiny bar/lounge that is hidden behind a telephone booth at a hot dog shop. There are no signs so, only those who know about it, know about it.
Great cocktails and great fun.

- French Roast -A friend took us here for brunch, and it was fantastic. This joint seems to be a mini chain restaurant in New York. Very reasonable prices with fresh ingredients. It was quite crowded in there with diners ranging from babies to the elderly. I had the nicoise salad with chocolate croissant.

- Matsuri -This delicious Japanese spot is located in the Meat packing district. The place has great ambience and more than reasonable prices. The servers were very polite and attentive to our needs. We had the watercress salad, fried fish, salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, green tea tiramisu (yum!) and red bean ice cream.

- Alice’s Tea Cup -This place is beyond cute. It is decorated with butterflies and pretty girly colors that entice all little girls.
However, the food is very tasty, and hopefully the boys will enjoy this place too. There is an endless list/menu of different teas as well as scones. We had the french toast, poached eggs, fruit scone, rosemary scone with honey, ham and cheese scone, apple juice (served in an adorable jar), and peach tea. Delicious!!

- Shake Shack – a must go place for hamburger lovers. West coast has in-n-out, new york has shakeshack.
We honestly prefer the in-n-out burgers over the shakeshack burgers, but we enjoyed the meal nonetheless.
We really liked the strawberry milkshake and crinkle cut fries with cheese!

- Joe’s Pizza – another must go place! When one is craving for real new york style pizza, here is the place! This place was also the site for famous film sites (think, SATC and spiderman). We gave this place two thumbs way up!

- Peanut Butter & Co – We saw this place on the foodnetwork channel, so we had to go try it. It is dedicated to selling only pbj sandwiches, and boy were we in heaven! We ordered the regular pbj and the elvis pbj to go before heading out to long beach.
The sandwiches were served with a side of chips and carrot sticks.
Yummy!

- Nobu – ah, the infamous hotspot for high cuisine as well as for celeb sitings.
Thankfully, we were able to afford go here due to New York’s Restaurant Week. For only $24.00, we were able to enjoy a full three course meal. The meal was fantastic and well portioned! We definitely want to pay this place another visit. Below is a picture of the main course meal–sushi plate.
