Hello! Here is a popular dish that is commonly seen in Korean pasta/pizza/Italian restaurants: Oven Spaghetti. It is very simple to make and very tasty to eat as well!! This will be a very pretty presentation dish as well if you use a casserole dish. We got mini loaf pans and made individual sized portions. Have fun with it!
What You Need:
- pasta
- spaghetti sauce
- sauce add ins: onion, garlic, carrot, tomato, ground beef (all optional!)
- parmesan cheese
- mozzarella shredded cheese (or any cheese you wish)
What to Do:
First boil pasta in salted water. While that’s cooking, dice the veggies. We used about 2 garlic pieces, one small carrot, 1 tomato, and 1/4 chopped onion. Putting in carrot may sound weird, but this is actually commonly seen in Asian tomato spaghetti sauce! We love it.
After that is done, saute the beef and set it aside. Next, saute the veggies.
Add in the beef to the vegetable mixture.
Add in the sauce to the mixture.
Next, combine the cooked pasta with the sauce. (TIP: Although it is pictured below, sauce added to pasta, we later found out after many tries, that it is better to add in the drained pasta TO the sauce. The reason is because we had cooked too much pasta in ratio to the sauce. To avoid the dish from being dry, put in about Pasta:sauce = 1:2 ratio. ) Mix mix mix!
Now, preheat the oven to about 350. Add in the pasta sauce mixture into the casserole pan. Spoon in the rest of the sauce on top of the mixture like pictured:
Sprinkle in parmesan cheese and then top generously with mozzarella cheese.
Insert the pan into the oven and heat until the cheese has browned
ENJOY!
